Courtney Pine (UK) - 11 June

The British saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Courtney Pine is a true pioneer. He was one of the first to introduce jazz to the club scene and on the charts in the mid 80s with his debut album, “Journey to the Urge Within”.

At Sthlm Jazz Fest 10, Pine will be bringing his much lauded project – “Transition in tradition” which is dedicated to the ground breaking saxophonist Sidney Bechet. Also accompanying him to the festival will be his fantastic band, which features amongst others, Omar Puente on violin!
